Our Story

The Beginning

The Realization

Cooter started as a passion project, when our founder saw the e-commerce boom as an opportunity to help nearby shops go digital. But when the Covid-19 pandemic hit, markets across Bharat shut down overnight, exposing how fragile small, family-run stores truly were. Among them was one six-member shop that had to close its doors; no customers, no income, and daily EMI calls from fintech lenders.

Meanwhile, quick commerce platforms rose, reshaping consumer behavior, convenience had become the new competition. By the time markets reopened, traditional systems were left behind.

What began as a small project soon revealed a bigger truth. Markets were shifting fast, moving from traditional practices to tech-driven, hyperlocal, and consumer-focused economies. Even in Tier 1 cities, many small businesses struggled to adapt, lacking access, awareness, and support raising a deeper concern for Bharat’s Tier 2 and 3 cities, where most businesses remain unorganized, less tech-savvy, and often unaware of the changes reshaping the modern economy.

The problem wasn’t just technological rather structural. Small businesses weren’t being included in the new economy because the tools, systems, and support were never built for them. They were expected to adapt to modern ecosystems without guidance, access, or affordability.

This realization shaped the foundation of Cooter Ventures, an ecosystem built on guidance and not just technology, born from experience, shaped by empathy, and driven by purpose.
